Barbara’s family moved to The Sheilin in Corriegills in 1968. The Owners before them had run it as a eating place and had a barn on the grounds where they held dances and had live music. These seem to have been quite legendary if you speak to the locals and we still have people coming to this day asking if this is the place where the dances/music was held as they have a memory or a story to tell. Sadly the barn was blown down in a storm just before Barbara’s Mum and Dad bought it. However Barbara’s parents still ran The Sheilin through the years as a Tearoom, B&B, and self catering before they retired. Their most famous guests were the band Slade who stayed when they were performing a gig in Lamlash Hall in September 1971 alongside Thin Lizzy and Nazareth. Barbara’s claim to fame is Noddy and Dave babysat her and her cousin during their stay – now I bet you can’t claim that one! ….. Or maybe you can!
The Pods came about as we were looking to move back to Arran and wanted to create a unique destination for adults only in a stunning location, just one mile from the ferry in Brodick. Primarily we wanted to combine the best of a boutique hotel, with the added benefit of self catering facilities. To provide a genuine quality alternative for couples and their beloved pets, with their own personal space outside and high end luxury inside, all set in our unique location in Corriegills. Set three hundred feet above sea level with glorious sea views to the north ensuring glorious sunrises and stunning views to the Goat Fell to the west.
The pods were ordered 6th Dec 2020, but due to Covid and all the repercussions of that in terms of labour and material shortages we finally took delivery on January 10th 2022. A very stressful, and challenging time – particularly getting them over to the island – for which we extend our huge thanks to Calmac Ferries. I can’t believe we actually got them here- that’s another huge thankyou to Armitage Groundworks and Struan especially for getting the pods up to Corriegills. The pods wouldn’t fit up the lane on the lorries and had to be craned off at the pier and towed up here behind a tractor. Then the work began to get the infrastructure in place, landscaping, planting and turfing all ready for our opening at the end of May 2022.

Ravens Gully offers a new glamping experience on the Isle Of Arran . Bespoke custom built boutique glamping accommodation for adults only, visiting our lovely island. Our pods are the most environmentally efficient units with home automation systems, electric blinds and much more, probably the smartest pods in the country!
The concept was to provide a boutique hotel room set in a unique location. Specifically designed for grown ups, to enjoy a tranquil stay. With the luxury of a high end hotel,but located in a unique location three hundred feet above sea level ,ensuring a peaceful stay with outstanding views. Without the coming and going of lots of hotel guests, or staff disturbance, to get away from soulless hotel rooms or b&b’s and have the facility to cook if you want to sit out in your own private space,with own seating areas outside and secure petfrienly garden area – to provide a space for our guests to enjoy your you time at your pace.
Absolutely no problem- just contact us to arrange your pickup date ,times etc and then text us when you are on the ferry and we will be happy to collect you.
We have included everything we would wish to find on holiday if we went away ourselves. Wherever we can we try to add personal touches and innovative solutions. On your arrival you will find a complimentary welcome hamper and a bottle of prosecco chiling in the fridge ready for your arrival

Barbara and I have raised three children – we have the grey hairs to prove it! We also remember all too well the welcome relief to escape for a few days without the kids or to escape to an adult only retreat. RG is a very tranquil, peaceful place. We therefore decided early on to maintain that peace and tranquility and to create somewhere for our guests to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life! We purposely chose not to have too many pods on site, and to position them carefully to give each one the best view over the bay and the privacy to relax and unwind. We hope you love it as much as we do!

One small to medium sized dog is welcome in our Dunfion and Dhunan Pods. They even get their very own welcome hamper to help them settle in. This includes feeding bowl, water bowl, poop bags, drying mitts, fluffy blanket, pet first aid kit and tasty dog treat made right here on the island at the Arran Dog Bakery. All have been road tested and approved by our very own fur baby Vinnie.
Each of our pet friendly pods also has its very own secure garden allowing you to sit back and enjoy the view knowing your dog is safe.

Arran Gold is in our opinion one of the best cream liqueurs in the world. Absolutely delicious from start to finish. It is made with Arran Single Malt Whisky which makes a real difference in terms of flavour. The nose has warm, melted toffee and lashings of double cream. The taste is beautifully sweet with vanilla, toffee, cream and a hint of chocolate. Wonderful stuff
